We've known David and his lovely Tina since the mid-1960's.

Although he's best known for his poetry, we know him more as a fellow musician and a good friend.

He's an accomplished guitar player who also plays mandolin, harmonica, and (if you catch him late at night) blues piano. He and his late wife Tina have written and recorded songs for various record labels.

David's giant collection of music ranging from vaudeville, swing, and be-bop, to country and bluegrass is surpassed only by his vast collection of books. He also has a wonderful collection of Mr. Peanut stuff.

He's an entertaining reader of poetry and we have videos here of David that we think you'll enjoy. We also have audio of his poetry reading and songs from various LPs and tapes.

He's written many books, some of which can be purchased at Amazon,
Amazon-Canada,
City Lights Books, Empty Mirror Books, Powell's books,  Black Sparrow Books, or at a bookstore near you.

He's been a Poetics Core Faculty member of the New College of California since 1980.

Even though David owns a computer, he approaches it as Indiana Jones would approach a tub full of snakes, i.e. computers are a pain in the asp. So it was with a great deal of arm-twisting, that we convinced him to let us make him a website.

We hope you like it.
